Due to the experience and training Brittany has demonstrated, she has been accredited by the EMDR Association of Australia in the use of EMDR therapy.
Brittany is an accredited Counsellor, accredited EMDR practitioner, Theraplay Foundational practitioner, and Safe and Sound practitioner in Melbourne, Australia. Brittany has over 10 years of experience providing therapeutic services to individuals, dyads, and groups in a variety of community service and private programs. Her areas of practice have included complex trauma, mental health, out of home care and foster care, ATSI and CALD, LGBTQI+, homelessness and family violence. Brittany is currently undergoing even further study to obtain registration as a psychologist.
Brittany is experienced in the use of EMDR and has completed extensive, advanced training in the use of EMDR with anxiety, phobias, depression, eating disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, addiction, dissociation and Dissociative Disorders. Brittany is also trained in the use of EMDR with children and adolescents. Aside from EMDR, Brittany is trained and experienced in the use of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy and Theraplay.
Brittany is deeply passionate about working with people that have experienced adversity across the life span and wish to improve their quality of life. She believes that our earliest experiences of relationships inform the challenges we experience later in life and so, the client/therapist relationship is a vital component for clients when engaging in their healing journey. She has a particular interest in the treatment of PTSD, Complex Trauma, and anxiety.
Brittany has a keen interest in psychoneuroimmunology: the study of the immune system and psychological processing and how adversity impacts health outcomes. In her spare time Brittany is an avid gym goer who loves keeping fit and being involved within the health & fitness community. Additionally, she enjoys holistic wellbeing practices such as ice baths, infrared saunas, and deep tissue massage.
